Dear Neurology Department Chairs,
The Association of University Professors of Neurology (AUPN) is proud to continue the AUPN Faculty Leadership Award, established to honor exceptional leadership within our member departments. Following the success of last year’s inaugural awards, which recognized 25 outstanding recipients, this initiative continues to celebrate faculty members who exemplify excellence in leadership, innovation, and dedication to advancing neurology.
As Department Chairs, your insights into the contributions of your faculty members are invaluable. We invite you to nominate one deserving candidate from your department who embodies these qualities.
Here are some key details:
- Eligibility: Faculty members who currently hold one of the specified leadership positions are eligible for nomination: Residency Program Director, Clerkship Director, Associate Program Director, Associate Clerkship Director, Child Neurology Residency Program Director, Research Program Director, VA Chief, Vice Chair, Section Chief, Fellowship Director, or Pediatric Division Chief
- Nomination Deadline: Please submit your nomination by April 13, 2025.
- Awards Announcement: Awardees will be formally announced in early May
Please note that the award cannot be given to the same individual twice within a 5-year span.
Awards Ceremony and Benefits
Awardees will be recognized during the AUPN Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony at our 2nd Annual Meeting on Saturday, September 13, 2025, held the day before the American Neurological Association (ANA) Annual Meeting at the same venue. Each recipient will receive a printed certificate presented at the ceremony, discounted registration to the AUPN Annual Meeting, and a custom AUPN gift in recognition of their award.
